High demand, IUOE 955 Budd Coutts mobile crane course re-launching next month
This February, IUOE 955’s Budd Coutts Apprenticeship and Education Centre will open its doors to Crane and Hoist - Mobile Crane Period 1 courses for the first time in several years in response to a profound increase in training demand.
“As the need for more skilled trades professionals in Alberta continues to rise, there has been a rapid increase in training requests for our mobile crane and hoist course,” said Chris Flett, IUOE 955 Business Manager. “I’m incredibly proud of our apprenticeship and education team for stepping up to launch more courses to help alleviate backlog and train the next generation of highly skilled crane operators.”
IUOE 955’s Budd Coutts facility offers state of the art classrooms, crane technology and student devices with a high student to instructor ratio. On-site crane equipment includes: Liebherr LTM 1070, Kobelco Crawler CK850G-2, Tadano GR-350XL-2 and Peterbilt Boom Truck with HIAB Articulating Crane.
The course is open to both IUOE 955 members and non-members. There is no tuition or book fees for eligible IUOE 955 members.

IUOE 955’s Budd Coutts Apprenticeship and Education Centre is recognized by the Government of Alberta as a training provider for first period Mobile Crane Operator Apprenticeship Education Program (AEP).
IUOE 955 proudly represents more than 12,500 members across the province.
