IUOE 955 HISTORY MADE! (again) Our first health-care workers have first CBA!

Posted on December 12, 2024

Around 80 health-care workers at Edmonton North Primary Care Network will now enjoy the benefits and protections of a 955 collective agreement following an overwhelming acceptance vote held earlier this week.

“This is a big deal,” said IUOE 955 Business Manager, Chris Flett.

“These folks play a critical role providing crucial care to friends and loved ones in our community. Now, they have a first collective agreement that treats them with the value and respect they deserve - and one that ensures they are cared for, too.

“But the agreement is not the only first in this story. The group represents the very first direct health-care workers in our Local’s 75 years of operation, and we could not be prouder to be their bargaining agent. Thank you for being part of our growing 955 family.”

Big shout out to Business Agents, Delanne Daviau and Ryan Ermet for working with this group from the beginning: from organizing, to certification, all the way to first agreement ratification.
